Who we are
David Zusman, Managing Partner (Left) and Andrew Heyman, Partner (Right)
David Zusman and Andrew Heyman became childhood friends when they were five years old while playing on the same Northern Virginia soccer team in 1980. David attended the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and Andrew attended Cornell University and Harvard Law School. They both ended up in New York City in the early 2000s and soon began collaborating on investments in public and private markets. In 2010, they launched Talara Capital, a private equity firm focused on investments in real assets as well as technology and business services across supply chains. Talara has invested over $1 billion in both established growth opportunities and de novo companies. David and Andrew formed GoPoint Ventures to invest in select early stage companies and actively advise founders as they grow their business.
Previously, David was a Partner at Perella Weinberg Partners and Managing Director at North Sound Capital. He started his career at Credit Suisse. He is also the Co-founder of the We Are All Music Foundation. On weekends, David and his wife are usually cheering on their two daughters at soccer games or gymnastics meets.
Previously, Andrew was a Managing Director at MLH Capital. He started his career at Goldman Sachs. Andrew likes to be outdoors, hiking and swimming with his wife and two young kids. When he manages to sneak away for some alone time, he can be found lifting weights, meditating, or listening to audiobooks.
Sharon O'Shea
Chief Financial Officer
Sharon O’Shea is GoPoint Venture’s Chief Financial Officer. Sharon as 26 years of operational experience working with multi-billiion dollar investment advisors managing all aspects of fund formation, accounting and administration as well as all regulatory and compliance matters. Previously, Sharon was chief financial officer of Sasco, Scopia and Wyser-Pratte. Ms. O’Shea holds a BBS degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Limerick, in Ireland and is a member of GARP and the FWA. In her spare time she can be found driving her two children to Irish dance competitions, soccer and softball games as well as raising awareness for the Children’s Tumor Foundation and NF2.
Taylor Mason
Operating Advisor
Taylor Mason is an Operating Advisor at GoPoint Ventures. Taylor has 13 years of experience within operating companies, private equity, and venture capital investments. Taylor joined the firm in 2018 from Oasis Petroleum company, where he developed new business ventures, evaluated acquisitions, and managed investor communications. Earlier in his career, Taylor was an investment banker with Morgan Stanley in their Global Energy Group. Taylor holds a Masters in Energy, Trade & Finance with merit from the Cass Business School at the City University of London and a B.A. in Economics from Denison College, where he graduated Cum Laude. Outside the office, when Taylor isn’t chasing after his young kids, he can be found working on boats or on the golf course.
Tom Glanville
Operating Advisor
Tom Glanville is an Operating Advisor at GoPoint Ventures. He is a seasoned energy and energy-technology executive, board leader, and strategic advisor with over 40 years of experience spanning public company operations, private energy investing, and advanced infrastructure technologies. He brings a combination of public-company discipline and venture capital tenacity, particularly in regulated, capital-intensive industries.
He spent 21 years on the board of Itron, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI), the world’s leading provider of electric, gas, and water metering and grid-edge intelligence, where he chaired the Audit/Finance Committee for seven years and served on multiple other key committees, helping guide the company through significant technology and market transitions.
Tom currently serves on the Advisory Board of Buzz Solutions, an AI-driven visual intelligence company that allows utilities to inspect, maintain, and secure energy infrastructure. He is on the board at Deep Fission, a venture-backed company developing underground small modular reactor infrastructure. He is also a director of MIND Technology (NASDAQ: MIND), a marine technology company serving offshore energy and subsea markets. He is Audit Committee Chair at both Deep Fission and MIND.
Tom is the Founder and Managing Partner of Eschelon Advisors, advising energy and infrastructure investors and companies across strategy, capital formation, and operational execution for the past 23 years. He serves on the boards of Crescent Pass Energy and Strand Energy, private oil & gas companies.
Tom spent the first twenty years of his career in various operating and finance roles at major energy and financial institutions. Tom earned a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia and an MS in Mineral Economics from the Colorado School of Mines.
